OUR HISTORY
From Humanitarian Roots to Educational Transformation
In February 2024, what would become LIT Base Global was born—not initially as a training or educational institution, but as a humanitarian initiative driven by compassion, urgency, and purpose. Our founder, Dr. Leticia Moshwe, recognized that, across regions of greatest need, access to basic necessities, safety, and support were critical first steps toward dignity.
From those early days, we launched operations in the UK, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Angola, deploying aid, relief, and support in communities facing crisis. From food distributions in conflict-affected zones to emergency outreach and resilience building for displaced families, we sought to deliver “boots on the ground” impact in places that had been neglected or marginalized. Our work across the DRC focused on food provision, skills development, women’s empowerment, and education outreach. In Angola, we worked with orphans and elderly widows to provide hunger relief. In Nigeria, we ran health campaigns in collaboration with care homes and also implemented practical skills development.
But as we engaged on the ground, partnerships formed. Local communities, NGOs, and government actors invited us to go beyond relief: “Help us build capacity,” they would say. “Teach our people, strengthen our institutions, show our youth the way.” They saw in us the possibility of more than charity—they saw an opportunity for lasting transformation.
Thus, by 2025, we shifted from being solely a humanitarian actor to becoming a designer and deliverer of learning, innovation, and empowerment. We expanded our mission: not just to do for communities, but to do with communities—to strengthen organizations, cultivate leadership, and equip youth with the mindset and tools to define their own futures.
2024: Laying Foundations
The birth of LIT Base
LIT Base begins as a humanitarian platform, registering as an entity in the UK and launching pilot relief efforts.
Mid 2024:
The growing begins
Rapid deployment in DRC and Angola—responding to crises, delivering food, water, and emergency support, and engaging with displaced communities.
Late 2024
The expansion
Project expansions into Nigeria and other regions. We began small-scale community projects: women’s empowerment workshops, health outreaches, educational support in underserved neighbourhoods.
In Nigeria, programmes for Empowering Women Through Skill Acquisition and healthcare services for the elderly were rolled out.
February 2024:
While performing these tasks, we were not content to remain at the level of aid alone. At every site, we listened. We asked: “What comes after relief?” “How do these communities survive—and thrive—on their own?” The answers guided our transition into education and capacity building.

2025 and Beyond:
Building Knowledge, Empowering Futures
In 2025, we officially broadened our mandate. The concept of Learning, Innovation & Technology (LIT) became our organising principle. We committed to delivering:
-
Organizational development for NGOs, non-profits, and civil society teams
-
Entrepreneurship training and youth development programmes
-
Technology-enabled learning and innovation platforms
-
Blended education solutions tailored to local contexts
Our humanitarian heritage continues to inform us. In the DRC, for example, we now run vocational training for skills-development and various education programmes whilst providing online courses locally and for the wider communities.
Moving forward:
Today, LIT Base Global stands at the intersection of humanitarian response and educational innovation. Our history defines us:
-
Grounded in service and care, we remain committed to the needs of communities.
-
Driven by learning and collaboration, we believe growth comes when communities lead their own change.
-
Focused on resilience and sustainability, we aim not just to help people survive—but to help them flourish.
As we grow, we honour our past by forging new paths—partnering with communities, governments, and organizations to build knowledge ecosystems where youth—and institutions—can grow in agency, capability, and purpose.
Welcome to our story.
